The Facelift Self-Help Workshop
Eastern and Western Techniques
Beauty is in the Presence of True Health
What is the Facelift Massage?
The Facelift Massage is a combination of western and eastern techniques
utilizing the smooth and light stroking of the surface tissues with
the addition of percussive techniques and deep-kneading techniques
to work the deeper musculature underneath surface tissues with a range
of pressure.
The Three-stage Facelift Massage:
The Facelift Massage utilizes the combination of therapeutic traditional
Japanese concepts and hand-manipulation techniques. This method
combines the facial treatment with the balance of all twelve internal
organs. This method is a three step procedure including cleansing
and moisturizing, which works with the external skin, and an additional
step called energizing, a procedure using acupressure points. This
balances the condition of the skin and psychological conditions, and
balances and harmonizes the condition of internal organs. The
energizing stage assists in producing a natural face-lift without using
acupuncture.
The Benefits of the Facelift Massage:
- Elimination of toxins
- Promotion of circulation
- Promotion of relaxation
- Reduction of lines caused by stress
- Prevention of wrinkles and age spots
- Hydration of the skin

What is included in The Facelift Massage?
- Isometric and isotonic exercises: Isometric exercises
increase muscular strength by using pressure. Isotonic
exercises increase muscular strength by performing movements at
variable speeds through a range of motion.
- Cause of facial imbalances: Genetic, outside factors,
internal factors. Genetic factors are factors which may
influence the facial skin which may be lighter or darker skin,
oily or very dry skin. Outside factors which impact the
facial skin, are extremes of heat, cold, dampness, and dryness,
and habitual routines such as the quality of diet, occupational
stress, lack of exercise. Internal factors are the emotional
balance or the imbalance caused by psychological factors, such
as sadness, fear, anger, happiness and worry, which can harm the
internal organs.
- Familiarization of the facial muscles: The
muscles of the face are complex and perform numerous movements
of expressions and show emotions and support the chewing movement.
- Neck massage: Neck massage improves blood flow to the
face which is essential for the face to repair damaged tissues,
flush toxins, and to supply facial tissues with oxygen and other
nutrients. The neck massage also provides a relaxing introduction
to the facial therapy.
- Connective tissue strokes: Connective tissue strokes
work with the surface of the face to relax and refresh the tissues. Stimulating
the acupressure points by using finger pressure is more effective
when the tissue is activated and warmed and the muscles and the
tissues are well prepared and relaxed.
- Facial diagnoses: Facial diagnoses
is a Japanese technique used to identify the internal organ
imbalances.
- Knowledge of life force (ki flow) in the
face: The ki
flow (life force or bioelectricity) is the ability to balance
the flow of the internal organs and consequently balances emotional
conditions. The face is used for primary diagnosing of the
condition of the life force. Utilizing acupressure
points improve the life force.
- Meridians (keiraku): A meridian is a flow
of liquid which carries the life force throughout the body. Examining
the condition of the meridians and stroking the meridian according
to the condition of each corresponding organ helps the facial
condition as well as overall health.
- Acupressure point technique (tsubo): Acupressure
points, or tsubo, are points on the body that can be used to relieve
pain or produce certain effects on the internal organs to relieve
symptoms. Applying pressure to the acupressure points, stimulates
certain nerves in the body to approve the appearance of facial
tissue as well as improving circulation of body fluids. The
technique releases blocked energy, increases the flow of oxygen,
reduces stress and tension (helping to balance the emotions),
and helping to alleviate creases and crevices.
- Massaging head and scalp: Techniques
are used in combination to increase scalp and head circulation
and to promote relaxation.
